The most exquisite moments still seemed to speed up and slip away just when you wanted to hang on to them for as long as possible, but alas, tempus fugit. Here’s my experience with an internship at AMG.

What were you doing before your internship?
– Before the internship, I was working on ways to improve my knowledge of the English language. I used to train for attempting the IELTS exam which consists of 4 parts. I was trained to improve the way I read, write, listen & speak which were the 4 parts of the IELTS exam. My internship had me do research on upcoming events, create various blogs through referencing well-performing articles, sample mail, write captions for pictures to be posted on social media & so on. I was trained to review the current ways of blogging & create my own test blogs, emailing and social media marketing by the event manager of the company.

Why were you interested in applying for the internship?
– I wanted to apply for the internship because the knowledge I had gained, even after completing my bachelor’s degree, was not enough to be the perfect employee.
Moreover, an investment in knowledge pays the best interest and the investment I had to make during my internship is time.

What skills have you learned during your internship?
– I have learned an abundant amount of skills during my internship. Planning & organizing blogs; applying professional standards; effective communication and managing; being open and adaptable. I have further developed my skills in being able to manage my time well and learn more than what was required of me since I’m quick in completing any task given to me before the end of the sufficient time required for other interns. I was very fast in doing everything. It also developed my skills of using the second warrior of life, time. After all, lost time is never found again.

What has been the most interesting part of the internship?
– The most interesting part of my internship has been challenging myself to learn as much as possible with the allotted time given for coming for the internship. After all, it’s the struggles that make life exciting, and it’s the triumphs that make life worthwhile.

What are your plans after the internship?
– I have several lists of plans after the internship. I’m a very quick person but there’s more to life than just getting faster. So, I am always finding various ways to utilize myself in the environments I’m put into so that I can find work I’m capable of doing with the knowledge I’m assimilating. I shall try and learn more about communication skills and make use of other ways to achieve my goal of being a prominent entrepreneur.

Any advice for future interns?
– My advice to future interns would be to go for it and fully hold this chapter in your professional and personal life. My advice is to make use of the various training programs and use it to improve yourself. There is no end to education. It is not as if you read a book, pass a test, and then call it a day. From the moment you are born until the moment you die, your whole life is a learning experience.
