The Maserati Quattroporte is a luxury sports sedan line that was first introduced in 1963. The name, Quattroporte, translates to “four doors” from Italian and is currently in its sixth generation. The sixth generation was first launched in 2013 and utilizes twin-turbocharged V6 or V8 engines and was developed with a larger wheelbase compared to its predecessors in order to differentiate itself from Maserati’s other sedan, the compact Ghibli.

The 2021 lineup of the Quattroporte features a new 10.1 inch infotainment display and updated active driving assist as well as a brand new model with the Trofeo which replaces the GTS. The Trofeo utilizes the V8 engine which generates 580 horsepower and is capable of reaching 60mph in just 4.2 secs. The Trofeo features a top speed of 203mph.

The new infotainment system in the Quattroporte 2021 is based on Google’s Android Automotive platform and features a virtual assistant activated by voice. The default speaker setup is a Harman Kardon 10-speaker system with a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system available as a standalone upgrade. Apple Car and Android Auto are still standard additions.

The cabin of the Quattroporte, while lacking in size compared to its key competitors, features a wonderfully stylish and comfortable design with the seats made from soft leather and utilizing silk inserts on the back. The dashboard comes in two variants, one with a genuine wood finish and the other with a real carbon fibre finish. The center console also has real metal buttons which further add to the luxury feel. However, the interior aesthetic is partially ruined by the addition of various cheap plastic bits and switchgear from Chrysler which is a budget brand.

Along with the Trofeo, the 2021 lineup includes the Quattroporte S and S Q4 which both feature V6 engines capable of 424 horsepower and a max speed of 179mph. The Trofeo and S both utilize a rear-wheel-drive system while the S Q4 uses an all-wheel-drive system. In terms of fuel efficiency, the S with its rear-wheel-drive system takes top place followed by the S Q4 and Trofeo.

And that’s it for the 2021 lineup of the Maserati Quattroporte. Feel free to comment on any extra bits of information you wish to share about this luxury sedan.
