Following a few months of developer-only releases, we’re now well into Android 12 public beta territory. And today, Google published Android 12 Beta 2.1, which, as the tiny increment indicates, is all about addressing issues in the previously released Android 12 Beta 2.

The Beta 2.1 patch addresses issues such as one that prohibited users from accessing anything on the lock screen, such as swiping down the notification shade, swiping away notifications, or even swiping to unlock the phone. Next, bugs that caused weather and calendar event information to disappear from the At A Glance widget have been fixed, as has a bug that caused flickering or jittery animations while using the widget.

The new microphone and camera permission indications introduced in Android 12 occasionally became stuck and vanished altogether unless the phone was restarted, however, this has now been resolved. More crucially, an issue that prevented users from exiting the setup process after installing the Beta and resetting the device has been fixed. Finally, a problem concerning functioning in the Android Emulator has been resolved to our satisfaction.

The new build is titled SPB2.210513.011 and will be distributed over the air to anyone who has Beta 2 installed. If you have a Pixel that is eligible and wish to sample the upcoming Android version, all you have to do is register your handset with the Android Beta for Pixel program, after that, you’ll receive the update.
