American musician Billy Joel once said. “It’s an explosive expression of humanity”. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter which part of the world we are from, everyone loves music.” Some of us will agree with this statement, and it is with this bond that we all connect.

We all can think of at least one song, that will trigger our emotions. It can be a song that you first danced to at your wedding or a song that reminds you of your breakup. Sometimes we will be in a happy-to-go place and then you hear a song that triggers you the most, makes you emotional and your mood just suddenly drops off and that’s absolutely okay, we all are human beings it’s natural to feel this way.

“We have such a deep connection to music because it is ‘hardwired’ in our brains and bodies,” Barbara Else, Yes we do have a deep connection with music, given the connection we have with music, it’s unsurprising that lots of studies have shown it can benefit our mental health.

Bob Marley once sang: “One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain.”  When he sang that he really meant what he said, It helps you reduce mental stress and anxiety, when you are feeling stressed, you can play your favorite song and enjoy it, also for some people it helps them to concentrate better.

Music will always be a part of everyone’s life, think about it, if there’s a party, a function happening at our school or anything you can possibly think of there will always be some music playing in the background because when we enter the party it just brightens your mind and your day.

Another passionate musical philosopher, Nietzsche, said, ‘We listen to music with our muscles.’ This, at least, is something we can see. It is evident in all of us—we all listen to music and tap our feet, we ‘keep time’, hum, sing along, or ‘conduct’ music, our facial expressions mirroring the rises and falls, the melodic contours and feelings of what we are hearing.
